openshare 2.6 is out!
This release primarily concentrates on features for faster publishing and social software: enabling users to rendezvous connect or collaborate through computer-mediated communication and to form online communities.

New features:

• Page preview
  This enables the user to review a page before publishing, thereby speeding up the publishing process.
• Web Services
  Web Services are an easy to implement solution for service oriented architecture, thus providing the company business with more flexibility in responding and in anticipating customers’ constantly changing needs. They also make it much easier to integrate disparate applications both within and across organizational boundaries. By using a WebService interface, the client can easily develop parallel and independent applications, executed on remote servers and compatible with different platforms.
• Live Copy
  This module allows data migration via a partial copy between two openshare servers. A user with multiple installations, such as in a test environment, is able to build sections of the site in the test environment and then copy these sections onto the production environment.
• Podcast
  Digital recordings of audio broadcasts are available via the Internet for downloading to a personal audio player. RSS is the XML file that directs the podcast client to the new audio files.
• Chat
  A vertical application, available in Flash and .asp formats, that enables users to chat, and may represent a useful alternative for internal communications.
• Enhanced E-mail Notification  
  The notification feature has been enhanced to respond the publishers various requirements, in standard and workflow publishing environments.
